Keep Your Robot Always Ready

To prolong the life of the battery, always keep your robot plugged in. Use the Scooba DryDock™ Charging and Drying Stand to easily and compactly store and charge your robot while the active drying system keeps it fresh and dry.

Get The Best Cleaning Performance

Select the appropriate room size setting for the space the robot is operating in. The small room setting will clean up to 150 square feet, while the large room setting will clean up to 300 square feet. Minimizing clutter and moving chairs will help your robot navigate best. You may also want to use a Virtual Wall to section off parts of your space. Remember that at floor level, a room sectioned off by a peninsula looks to the robot like two rooms separated by a doorway, like pictured below.

Keep Your Robot Operating Like New

After each use, empty and rinse the clean and dirty water compartments of the tank, and remove and rinse the cleaning head. Periodically remove any hair or debris buildup on wheels and brushes, or as directed by the robot.

Using The Remote Control

The Remote Control lets you conveniently access Roomba’s functions. Use it to turn Roomba on and off or steer it around your room. It also gives you remote access to tell Roomba to spot clean or return to its dock. Make sure there is a direct line of sight from the remote control to Roomba and that the remote is pointed at Roomba.

Getting The Most Out Of The Roomba Battery

The best way to prolong the battery life is to frequently use your robot and keep your battery charged. Also, keeping the extractors and filters clean allows Roomba to use less battery power with each cleaning cycle.

Changing Filters

To maximize cleaning performance, be sure to check the filter after each cycle. Simply remove the filter and tap it against your waste basket to release the trapped dust and debris. Be sure to replace your filter every two months. Never use water to wash the HEPA filter.

Cleaning With A Full Bin

Roomba will continue to clean with a full bin but less effectively. For optimal performance, empty the bin frequently. To help with the maintenance process, Roomba 880 will automatically notify you when the bin is full and ready to be emptied.

Minimizing Clean Time

Room cleaning time ranges from 14-75 minutes depending on the model and room size. Decreasing the amount of clutter in the room will help lessen this time and improve cleaning effectiveness.

Charge your battery

Braava comes with a rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery. You can charge this battery even if you have not run it all the way down to a low battery signal. When charging, Braava can either be removed from the charger once it is fully charged or it can be left on the charger.

Use your NorthStar cube for maximum coverage.

Braava can clean farther and smarter with the Cube, but can still clean without it. If the Cube is not present, the robot will clean a smaller area and cannot perform a perimeter clean at the end of its cycle.

Run Mirra only when in the water.

Mirra has a very strong motor system that needs to stay cool for optimal performance and life. Your pool water around the motor helps keep it cool during operation. Therefore Mirra should not be run outside of the pool due to the risk of overheating the motor.

Choose the correct filter canister.

Use the Large Debris Filter Canisters when the pool contains a significant amount of large debris (leaves, insects, etc.) and when the pool is opened for the season or cleaning during the Fall. The Fine Filter Canisters are ideal for filtering small debris such as algae, sand, silt and bacteria and for regular pool cleaning maintenance during the peak of your pool season.

Keep Mirra working at peak performance.

Mirra uses the powerful force of water pumped through its filter to clean and circulate pool water and to propel itself around your pool. It pumps and filters more than a gallon of water every second! Clean the filter canisters regularly by removing them from Mirra, emptying its contents and hosing it out. Keeping the filter canisters clean will ensure optimal cleaning results and strong pump suction.

Allow the motor to cool before removing the robot from the pool.

Mirra's power supply has an automatic timer that shuts Mirra off after each cleaning cycle. Wait 20 minutes before removing Mirra from the pool to allow the pump motor to cool. Turn the power supply off and unplug it from the electrical outlet before removing Mirra from the pool.

Charge your battery.

Mint and Mint Plus come with a rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery. You can charge this battery even if you have not run it all the way down to a low battery signal. When charging, Mint can either be removed from the charger once it is fully charged or it can be left on the charger.

Use your NorthStar cube for maximum coverage.

Mint and Mint Plus can clean farther and smarter with the Cube, but can still clean without it. If the Cube is not present, the robots will clean a smaller area and cannot perform a perimeter clean at the end of their cycle.

Avoid interference from other home appliances.

There may be interference with the NorthStar signal from some televisions and fluorescent lights. Make sure the NorthStar Navigation Cube is not placed within five feet of a Plasma or LCD television. If the Cube is in a room with fluorescent light, move the Cube to an area without fluorescent light or turn the fluorescent light off.

Schedule Your Roomba

Scheduling your Roomba to clean while you're out doing other things is one of the best ways to get the most benefit from your cleaning robot. You can schedule Roomba to clean once a day, up to seven times per week. The clock time must be set before you can schedule Roomba's cleaning times.

Make Sure Battery Door Is Latched Shut

The robot is waterproof but only if the battery door is securely latched shut. When you close the battery door you will hear a "click" that tells you the battery door is closed and latched securely. Now your robot is ready to use. If you do not hear a "click", check to make sure the door and latch are clear of debris and try latching the door shut once again. Always make sure you keep water out of the battery compartment and off of the battery. Water will damage the robot and the battery itself.

Secure Auger To Axle

Before operating Looj, make sure the auger is securely attached to the robot axle. When you push the auger onto the axle you will hear a "click" that tells you the auger is securely attached. If you do not hear a "click" the auger is not securely attached and you should check to make sure it is clear of debris and try attaching it once again.

Measure First

Looj is 2 inches tall. We recommend that you measure the height clearance of your gutter straps from the bottom of the gutter to the bottom of the straps. Download and print the measurement template.

Clean After Each Use

Cleaning Looj after each use is fast and easy. Simply remove the handle/remote and rinse dirt and debris off the robot with a garden hose.

Controlling Roomba

Your Wireless Command Center helps you control your 790 robot from virtually anywhere in your home. The intuitive layout allows you set the clock and schedule the robot as well as start and drive the robot.

Cleaning With A Full Bin

Roomba will continue to clean with a full bin but less effectively – it is best to check and empty the bin when needed. Our Roomba 770, 780, and 790 models will automatically notify you when the bin is full and ready to be emptied.

Keeping Roomba Away From Pet Bowls

The included Virtual Halo creates an invisible field to gently guide Roomba 564 Pet Series around your pet's food and water bowls to keep their contents intact.

Minimizing Clean Time

Room cleaning time ranges from 25-60 minutes depending on the room’s size. Decreasing the amount of clutter in the room will help lessen this time.

Changing Filters

To maximize Roomba’s cleaning performance, be sure to check the filters regularly and change them every two months.

Proper Battery Installation

Because Scooba 230 requires a watertight seal to function properly, it’s important for the battery to be inserted completely and be flush with the robot. To install the battery, turn Scooba 230 on its side with the battery well facing up. Align the rounded edge with the rounded opening. Press firmly for a proper fit. Press the power button on your Scooba to see that the battery has been installed correctly - you will hear a beep and the Clean button will light up if the battery is installed properly.

Regular Maintenance

We recommend that you monitor all parts for wear from regular use. The bottom plate for the Scooba 230 is designed to be easy to remove, easy to clean and easy to replace. The brushes and squeegee will wear out over time, and this will depend on your usage. We recommend that you replace your bottom plate every six months to ensure that your Scooba 230 is cleaning as effectively as possible. When it comes time to buy new bottom plates or additional cleaning solution, visit our website for everything you need to keep Scooba running.

Two Cleaning Cycles To Fit Your Needs

Scooba 230 has two cleaning cycles: SHORT and LONG. The SHORT cycle is effective for cleaning smaller rooms or areas such as bathrooms and small kitchen spaces up to 60 square feet. The LONG cycle is best for cleaning larger rooms up to 150 square feet.
